Exploring the Benefits of Cosmetic Tattooing

We’re sharing five of our favourite benefits of permanent makeup with you, helping you decide if this beauty treatment is for you – we’re sure it will be! Come take a read now.

As a beauty therapist, I’m often asked about the benefits of permanent makeup. Women (and men) choose permanent makeup for many different reasons, and most of these reasons are directly related to the benefits this beauty treatment provides.

In our Dunedin beauty clinic, we help improve the confidence and appearance of our clients through the art of cosmetic tattooing. Specialists in using hairstrokes by machine, we have chosen not to focus on microblading, as we believe hairstrokes by machine provide a higher quality result, Powdered Brows, Eyeliner and Lips

Today I’m going to be exploring with you the multiple benefits of permanent makeup, explaining why it’s a great investment for your appearance.

5 Key Benefits of Permanent Makeup

Permanent makeup, also known as permanent cosmetics, is a semi-permanent beauty treatment where a coloured pigment is placed within the top layers of a person’s skin. Used to enhance a person’s appearance, it is a beauty treatment which has quickly grown in popularity both here in New Zealand and worldwide.

There are plenty of benefits, but today we’re sharing five of our favourites with you:

1. Time saver – putting your makeup on each morning takes time, and if you’re rolling out of bed just before you need to leave for work, permanent cosmetics are for you! While some people use it instead of traditional makeup, others use it as a base from which to work on – and for those days they don’t have time to even apply it.

2. Sensitive skin – some women find themselves having allergies to topical makeup. Permanent makeup saves them from the pain and discomfort these allergies cause.

3. Poor vision – if you wear glasses or contacts, you’ll understand exactly what we mean when we say putting on makeup is so hard. When your vision isn’t great, it’s hard not to poke yourself in the eye with mascara or put your eyeliner on straight. With cosmetic tattooing, those difficulties are gone.

4. Reduce costs – traditional cosmetics are consumable products. As you use them, they run out and you need to purchase more. They also have a limited shelf life and need to be replaced often to keep them safe for use. Cosmetic tattooing requires only a few sessions and touch-ups, with the ability to last for several years.

5. No smearing – if you’ve been a victim of smeared eyeliner in the past (and to be honest, we all have), you can say goodbye to panda eyes with permanent eyeliner. Whether you’re out for a run, or dancing up a storm in the club, your eyes will remain smudge free and beautiful.
