Also known as cosmetic tattooing, there’s a lot to learn about this beauty treatment. As always, we’re happy to discuss the procedure with you in detail, but for today, we’re sharing only five of the things you should know first:

1. It is permanent – the results are permanent not semi-permanent, as the pigment is placed within your skin, it may fade over time, but not 100% back to what the skin was used to, thus classed as permanent.

2. Pain – as with any invasive procedure, having a permanent cosmetics procedure can be painful. We do all we can to minimise and prevent this occurring though, through the application of 2x numbing creams.

3. Choose the best technician – the results you receive will depend a lot on the skill and experience levels of the beauty technician you choose. Do your research first. Ask to see examples of their work and chat with past clients too.

4. Not everyone is suitable – while most people can have the treatment, there are some for whom it is not suitable. If you are on blood thinners, are pregnant, are on specific medication, or are under 18 are just some of the contraindications. Check out our FAQs for further information on suitability.

5. Side effects – generally the only side effects a client will have include slight bleeding, possible bruising, or moderate swelling. It’s vital that you follow the specific after-care instructions we give you to reduce the possible side effects.
